The reality is there still is a deformation of mindsets in the US that evolved out of a real hyper period of similar grassroots spiritualist mania that mirrored that same enforced craze in antiquity. This was just back in 1820s when we get Mormons, the new messiahs & prophet preachers whos willy nilly fantasies sufficed as long as it roughly held to the original.

You note always beyond guns, god & fags, its not coincidence the academics & polymaths are next to be thrown on the fire. They are sensitive to this, to always make teachers targets, whch is beyond me for teaching in most public schools could be seen as hell on earth for the most part, but not always.

That same repression & destruction is still being attempted, yet left to their own devices if there wasn't the enemy of liberal secularism, theyd be right at burning each other again cause Darwin was right! ;o)

Christians not only killed pagans, they were very good at anihilating each other in most gruesome ways but thats a history that always gets the fog treatment. Here is where we see one of the fundamental calls of religion, to escape from reality of history, which itself is the great revelation. Its natural byproduct of fear of the unknown & death, the human mind seeks to flee and escape, this is also fundamental & why the arguments persist with such vehemence. Because this parallels a creatures need to survive, to challenge these fantasies is to pose some imaginary demise and those are fighting words in any animal kingdom, could very well end in your death.

History (and life) itself is the great revelation, this we know gets easily ignored & cherry picked according to who's faith it is, which region & which deformation of minds we're talking about. So again, especially today we see Darwin was right, this need for flight & escapism would easily be predicted in each & every territorialism. As would the submitting to mass delusion at the expense of true history, its imagined playing field where your imaginary souls life is at stake. Or the promised lands, hunting grounds for which one fights & dies for, but this is history/reality & goes all the way back to primates & beyond.

An interesting look back on Muslim Ottoman Harems & slave markets, the custom of concubines & odelesques, rules governing lawful wives for breeding and locking in patriarchal power. Not all was rosey for the Sultan's wives, law gave new Sultan elects the right to murder all their brothers to secure power, that would include wives & children.
