As I'm sure you know, SK collects waste oil but hasn't been able to do very well in making it pay. They decided to see whether they could enhance shareholder value by putting SK up for sale. They got two bidders, Philip and Laidlaw. Philip is making a friendly takeover offer of $27 cash with a sweetening golden parachute for management which they liked. Laidlaw made an unfriendly offer of $30 of which half is cash, half stock. Now to answer your question, Laidlaw (LLE) is located in Columbia, South Carolina, and surely must read their local papers and has been following the GRNO saga. I'm hypothesizing that they have put 2 and 2 together and their mouths water for all that waste oil that SK collects so they can then do a deal with GRNO.
