The Asian economic crisis will take 2 years at least to get to the start of the recovery. The hard decisions the ruling class have to take are really hard - it's a matter of letting banks/businesses go under that belongs to their cousins/in-laws/mentors/proteges etc. However, I strongly believe that after the soul-searching and hand-wringing is over, Asian countries will concentrate on building basic infrastructure: roads, telecoms, power, low-cost housing and basic services as opposed to high profile skyscrapers, condos, golf courses etc. This bodes very well for US high-tech companies - telecoms, computers and networking. Having said that, if your time horizon is the next two years, better seek out the high tech companies that are doing most of their business in NA, Europe and CALA. Steve
