EchoStar Announces Multi-Sport Package on DISH Network for Out-of-Market Sports Programming

ENGLEWOOD, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 9, 1997--EchoStar Communications Corporation (Nasdaq: DISH - news) announced today that DISH Network(SM) is now offering an out-of-market sports package including the fourteen Fox Sports regional networks that it currently carries.
The Multi-Sport Package will be available to any America's Top 50 CD(SM) customer who elects to purchase the package for $4.99 a month.
The Multi-Sport Package provides America's Top 50 CD customers with access to all of the regional Fox Sports networks' non-professional and collegiate sports programming. These regional networks include Madison Square Garden (MSG), Fox Sports Rocky Mountain, Fox Sports Southwest, Fox Sports West, Fox Sports Midwest, Sports South, Sunshine, Home Team Sports (HTS), Fox Sports Northwest, Fox Sports Pittsburgh, Fox Sports Detroit, Empire Sports, New England Sports Network (NESN) and the Midwest Sports Channel.

DISH Network Adds STARZ! and Encore

Beginning December 31, 1997, DISH Network will offer Encore and STARZ! The two networks will be available on a monthly basis for only $9.00.
STARZ! is the first-run premium movie network from EMG, featuring exclusive premieres of Hollywood's best recent films through agreements with some of Hollywood's top studios, including Universal, Miramax, Touchstone/Hollywood, New Line, Fine Line and Turner Pictures. In 1998, STARZ! will have exclusive premieres of The English Patient, Shine, Sling Blade and Evita, among others.
Encore presents Movies You Know and Love from the '60s, '70s & '80s. Tune in to the critically-acclaimed performances in movies like ''Scent of a Woman,'' ''Easy Rider,'' and ''Ordinary People.'' Encore features a different movie every night in prime time.
