"A single-payer system would all but eliminate anybody dying unnecessarily due to lack of access to healthcare."

"This is simply not factual. The idea that single-payer somehow guarantees better health care is absurd."

If you don't have access, and then you get it and, if you take advantage of it, you will get better health care. Going to the ER is not care; it's treating what is often the result of a lack of preventative care. Does single-payer make one go to the doc? Nope, but if they die, it won't be from lack of access to care they can afford.

What single payer really eliminates is the insurance middleman. I have single payer; Medicare.
