Because we live a complex democratic society and we must have ordered mechanisms
for distributing goods and services. And if the majority decide we need a bridge across a river only 70% use, the other 30% have to pay too.

The same with PP. I am male and don't need PP, but I have empathy for women I know need it and so I fight for them. You chose to fight against them i.e. "war on women"-lol!

The dems fight for minorities, women and gays and so they vote Democratic. As I keep saying Blacks vote Democratic because we are there friends.

They do not see the Republican's as their friends because they keep doing things to hurt them.

War on women, denying gay marriage, voter suppression.

Having PP is a part of modern civilization and taxes are the price for civilization.
