Agree... and when there is 'true' new info like the tapering amount yesterday it tends to 'stick' s opposed to the usual fed leaked stuff that has already been bid up or down by time news comes there is often a whipsaw initially and then the next day. Tellingly we did not see the 'usual' 30% retracement today after a particularly large up/down day prior. Nonetheless the incredible shrinking vix sure does make me think about a steady piece into say TVIX. I mean at some point it becomes so compressed as a 2x etn that I feel like taking a starting position can be averaged down and still give a LOT of comfort that sooner or later some shock to market will spike it for at least a flat out, and pref. for profit. . I wouldn’t do this for an indiv stock .. say blackberry lol because there is no assurance it will ever rise again. But at some point with this idea it becomes so statistically lucrative since there is a safety net- of sorts.. even if it may take a little time and some pain while waiting. Not sure it has hit that absolute low and hung out there a while to make all you TA guys happy.. so I will wait until it feels like a bottom is in. kind of play that could really lend itself to parlaying it as it rises with profit under the hood since rare for it to spike down in same manner it spikes up. just noodling it for now... could be the multibagger for coming year if handled right.
