The last time I inquired on a Nasdaq trade it was cleared through
Madoff Securites.

They have a wesite if you are interested madoff.com
The orders are first processed throug ADP (as I was told from Waterhouse) then sent to the market maker.

If you want to check out how big a market maker is
got to nasdaqtrader.com and put
in a symbol and see who traded it last month/quarter.- for example, Madoff was the #9 trader for intel in October.

p.s. sometimes the mm names are a little different than reported
p.p.s. Market makers won't to to you...they refer you back to Waterhouse.
