I wouldn't be surprised if Obama is holding up forcing government contractors to raise pay because he sees it as part of the minimum wage negotiations.

If he is, that is the same Lucy football trick the pubs have laid on him for five years.

In Alaska, our Republican governor Jay Hammond, with ad hoc liberal dems in the house supporting it, forced all contractors on the oil pipeline to pay union wages.

And they all did without a hint of opposition. They were glad to pay the wages to get the jobs.

Obama could do the same thing. In order to bid on federal jobs you must pay prevailing union wages.

It worked well in Alaska. Put me thought graduate school. The oil companies made a ton and didn't give a shit.

But you have to demand it, own it, not play with it.
