Obama encourages moms to ‘tell stories in the grocery store’ about Obamacare
....................................................................................................................
2/18/2013 by Vince Coglianese Daily Caller

Excerpt:

In a meeting with “eight moms from around America,” according to a White House pool report, President Obama encouraged the mothers to sing the praises of Obamacare while they’re out shopping at grocery stores.

Obama, speaking to the moms in the Oval Office, acknowledged that there have been problems with the roll-out of his signature health legislation, but insisted that a solid P.R. campaign will rescue Obamacare.

When people “hear about preventive care, the more they hear about no lifetime limits,” Obama said. “The more information they get, the more satisfied they’re going to be.”

And moms can play a special role in making Obamacare popular, the president went on.

“There’s something about moms,” Obama said, according to the report. “Nothing can replace telling stories in the grocery store to somebody who may be skeptical.”

VALERIE JARRETT -- DESTROYER OF THE US
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

GUESS WHO MADE THE IRAN DEAL HAPPEN???

THE HIDDEN GENERAL!

Born-in-Iran Valerie Jarrett is known as 'the brains behind Obama' ...and has long been Barry's -as well as wife Michelle's- most trusted confidant.

Today as Senior White House Adviser, Jarrett's probably the most powerful woman in the world... She may well be the most powerful woman in America, and almost certainly is the most powerful member of the Obama administration. The adjective "shadowy" definitely applies to this woman who enjoys her power through her relationship to the President, having never been confirmed by Senate hearings.

Her title as "Senior Adviser" to the President barely scratches the surface of her real power. President Obama has time for his 150+ rounds of golf, his extensive television watching, and his expertise on March Madness bracketology because ValJar, by most accounts, is a tireless and fiercely loyal sycophantic gatekeeper, policy adviser, and in essence acting president.

She enables Obama to focus on what he does best: fundraising, speechifying, shooting hoops, and partying. Those who have crossed swords with ValJar, like former Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel and former Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, have found themselves out on their asses.

She introduced Mr. and Mrs. Obama to each other, and facilitated young lawyer Obama's entry into the Chicago machine power structure. In other words, in many respects she is running the country while Obama handles the public face.

At a moment when the United States has caved in to Iran's nuclear program, the Farsi-speaking, Muslim-dating Jarrett is the most powerful member of an administration led by an absentee president uninterested in the details of his administration's activities.

It was recently revealed that for several months, President Obama’s closest and most trusted advisor, Valerie Jarrett, has been leading secret negotiations with representatives of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, in an effort to develop normalized relations between the U.S. and Iran. Hallmarks of such a relationship would include the commencement of direct airline flights between American cities and Tehran; the granting of entry permits for citizens of each country to visit the other; and most significantly, high-level diplomatic dialogue regarding Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

Jarrett, however, has no experience whatsoever in international negotiations. Her major area of expertise has been to help President Obama “fundamentally transform” the United States into a socialist paradise.

Toward that end, for instance, Jarrett helped recruit to the Administration such luminaries as the self-identified communist revolutionary Van Jones (as green jobs czar), the Alinskyite radical Mark Lloyd (as chief diversity officer within the Federal Communications Commission), and the die-hard advocate of wealth redistribution Cass Sunstein (as regulatory czar).

But for the task of striking a bargain with the America-hating Islamic supremacists in Iran, it is difficult to identify any qualifications Jarrett possesses apart from the fact that she was born in that country and lived there till age 5.

Jarrett’s weak resumé in that regard might well explain not only why the Administration tried so hard to keep a lid on her talks with Iranian leaders, but also why Obama refused to back Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s call for a clearly defined “red line” beyond which Iran’s nuclear program would not be permitted to progress.

Like so many Obama appointees, Valerie Jarrett bears the unmistakable imprint of the president’s ideology. She is a leftist to her core, with notable personal ties to the communist movement. Jarrett’s maternal grandfather, for instance, was a Chicagoan named Robert Taylor, who in the 1940s was involved with such communist fronts as the American Peace Mobilization and the Chicago Civil Liberties Committee. Also a member of these groups was Frank Marshall Davis, the communist journalist who in the 1970s would mentor a young Barack Obama.

Jarrett’s mother (and Robert Taylor’s daughter) is early-childhood-education author Barbara Taylor Bowman, who co-founded a Chicago-based graduate school in child development known as the Erikson Institute, named after the psychoanalyst Erik Erikson; in 1950 Erikson became a hero to the left by choosing to resign from his professorship at the University of California rather than sign an anti-communist loyalty oath as the school required. Indicative of the Erikson Institute’s radical political orientation is the fact that its board of trustees has included, in addition to Bowman, such figures as Tom Ayers (father of the former Weather Underground terrorist and lifelong Marxist Bill Ayers) and Bernardine Dohrn (longtime wife of Bill Ayers).

In 1983 Valerie Jarrett married the son of Vernon Jarrett, a black journalist who formerly wrote for the communist-influenced Chicago Defender. In the 1940s, Mr. Jarrett was a leader of the Chicago chapter of American Youth for Democracy—youth wing of the Communist Party USA. He also served on a publicity committee for the Packinghouse Workers Union, a Chicago-based entity dominated by the CPUSA. In each of these endeavors, Mr. Jarrett had close contact with the aforementioned communist, Frank Marshall Davis.

According to The Washington Post, Vernon Jarrett was “a key influence” in persuading Harold Washington, a politician with powerful socialist ties, to run for mayor of Chicago in 1983. Four years later Mr. Jarrett helped his daughter-in-law, Valerie, enter the political arena as an official in Mayor Washington’s Administration.

After Washington’s death in 1987, Ms. Jarrett worked as deputy chief of staff for his successor, Richard Daley. Valerie Jarrett’s ties to Barack and Michelle Obama were first formed in 1991, when Ms. Jarrett recruited Michelle (who at the time was engaged to Barack) to Chicago’s City Hall.

Jarrett quickly became a trusted confidante of both the Obamas. Thus would she play a key role in then-Senator Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign. Following the election, Jarrett was appointed as a senior advisor and assistant to Mr. Obama, who admittedly consults Jarrett on every important political decision he makes. Indeed, the president once told a New York Times reporter that he completely trusts Jarrett “to speak for me, particularly when we’re dealing with delicate issues.”

It seems that this trust extends even to Jarrett’s handling of such “delicate issues” as whether Iran, the world’s leading state sponsor of Islamic terrorism, will develop a nuclear weapon and, in its own way, forever “fundamentally transform” life not only in the United States, but throughout the world.

This is not going to end well for America..

VA hospital refuses to accept 'Merry Christmas' cards
...............................................................................................
By Todd Starnes December 25, 2013
foxnews.com

Boys and girls at Grace Academy in Prosper, Tex., spent most of last Friday making homemade Christmas cards for bedridden veterans at the VA hospital in Dallas.

Fourth-grader Gracie Brown was especially proud of her card, hoping it would “make their day because their family might live far away, and they might not have somebody to celebrate Christmas with.”

“I’d like them to know they’ve not been forgotten and somebody wanted to say thank you,” Gracie told MyFoxDFW.com.

Gracie’s card read, “Merry Christmas. Thank you for your service.” It also included an American flag.

But the bedridden veterans at the VA hospital will never get to see Gracie’s card. Nor will they see the cards made by 51 other students. That’s because the Christmas cards violated VA policy.

"It really didn't occur to me there would be a problem with distributing Christmas cards," said Susan Chapman, a math teacher at the academy. She's married to a veteran and volunteers with the American Legion and other veterans' organizations.

On Monday morning the boys and girls were planning on hand delivering the cards to the wounded veterans. Chapman called the hospital to make final arrangements and that’s when she learned there was a problem.

"I told him my students made cards, we'd like to bring them down for the veterans," Chapman told the television station. "And he said, 'That's great. We're thrilled to have them, except the only thing is, we can't accept anything that says ‘Merry Christmas' or ‘God bless you' or any scriptural references because of all the red tape.'"

A VA official quoted the policy which is in the Veterans Health Administration handbook:

"In order to be respectful of our veterans' religious beliefs, all donated holiday cards are reviewed by a multi-disciplinary team of staff led by chaplaincy services and determined if they are appropriate (non-religious) to freely distribute to patients. We regret this process was not fully explained to this group and apologize for any misunderstanding."

Hiram Sasser, director of litigation for Liberty Institute, said it was a new low “even for the Scrooges and Grinches at the VA.”

“Targeting the benevolent work of little children for censorship is disgusting,” Sasser told me. “Do the Grinches in the administration of the VA really believe our bravest warriors need protection from the heartfelt well wishes of small children saying Merry Christmas?”

Andrea Brown, Gracie’s mom, was dumbfounded by the news.

“This wasn’t the country I grew up in, when you couldn’t say ‘Merry Christmas,’ you couldn’t say ‘God bless you’ or reference any scripture,” she told MyFoxDFW.com.

She told the television station the boys and girls were heartbroken that the military personnel would not be able to receive their cards.

"They couldn't believe the people that these people they wanted to honor weren't going to get the chance to see what they had done," she said.

The cards will not be thrown away -- they are being shipped to Brook Army Medical Center in San Antonio and to a private facility for veterans in Louisiana.

Sasser said at some point, “does the VA have no shame?”

“Mr. Potter from ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ wouldn’t even ban little children from wishing our veterans Merry Christmas,”
Sasser said.
