bw, like your bean story a lot. Kept LOL while reading it. While we come here to share and learn, we definitely can't deny some free entertainment.

The header rating system modeled after Kerm's at first seem to me to make sense. On further thoughts, NAH. It would take away the free spiritness of this forum and force us to become robotic in our speech. Most of us would agree that this Strictly Drillers thread is a joy to visit and post, unlike many other threads where ego-trippers try to tear each other out. I think the key is we as a group has a lot of knowledge to offer so those BSters can't impress on anything.

FLC/RB - shows its leadership poise again today. What amazes me is why people don't trade this like others but decide to invest on its merger theme for a change. In my book it will remain a leader until taken down like others.

VTS - disappointing to me since its beating earning estimate was not able to sustain its price. Don't bid well for PDS who is going to announce next Monday.

Land drillers (except NBR and GW) - got smack pretty well. Reaffirm that they are indeed the high volatility group. UTI has lost big on two consecutive days. BDI took a free fall today. PTEN and PDS did not fair too well either. No loyalty, just full of itchy fingers. NBR has strong institutional following and that possibly explains its relative stability.

Deepwater drillers did not do any better either, except FLC. Somewhat surprising following VTS announcement and conference call today (there is a 1800 number, check it out and listen to the continued excitement about GOM deepwater activity. Enter VTS in yahoo and get the playback 1800 number).

Short term things do not look good. We have two days of 3-4% drop and we are again at a critical crossroad. The late uptick in several drillers are encouraging and if the whole market bounce up in the morning tomorrow the drillers will use open on a positive note. If they are unable to sustain by close, then we are likely to go lower until they find some support (may not be the recent low since TA supports have trended up too. If one likes the volatility and want to trade for maximum profit, the temporarily beaten down land drillers like UTI, BDI and PTEN will be my choice.
