I suppose it depends on how you define "wisdom". They conquered lands from North America to the edge of Asia. They dominated the British Isles for centuries. My point being is that they were more than a bit successful. Since much of the law we have today was based on their input - and even the days of the weeks are for the most part named after "their" gods - are you not mixing up wisdom for morality. Christian morality at that. To the Vikings they were living a moral life - just that their gods were different. Their heaven a different place. ............To Christians they were bad and immoral according to the Christian thinking. But to history, they were just another in a long list of peoples. And back to my point, we are still trying to catch up to those barbarians in what rights and powers we give women. Pretty sad in a way.
