Edison didn't give us electricity; that was Franklin. Edison didn't build the infrastructure to deliver and produce that electricity; that was the other Franklin, who also gave us SS, which has lifted more people out of poverty than anything ever invented. Sowell didn't build it, Edison didn't build it, and Romney didn't build it; it takes a village.
