Yes, the employer can and they did. And it totally backfired.

People are fed up with political correctness. AETN apparently didn't realize WHY the audience was flocking to its biggest show ever and how pissed they were going to be about the attack on Robertson.

While Robertson's remarks were very much a product of his hard right religious perspective, I have taken great pleasure in watching AETN scramble to figure out how to deal with its self-inflicted wound.

AFAIK, the number of viewers was not the issue.

Rather, it's the fear of lawsuits on the part of "the boss" and the advertisers that is turning the free market of ideas into a politically correct joke.

In other words, this is NOT the free market working as intended. Instead, this is political correctness "working as intended."
