Lienenkugel is a perfect example of this. It's a great beer that's brewed near Eau Claire (where I went to college). I think Miller owns them now.

The other local option was Walter's (NOT WALTERS) and it was HORRIBLE! Walter needed to be killed for brewing that sludge. Oral Roberts knew it well and we agreed - it was BAD! I have some funny stories about Walter's beer when I was social chairman at school
