Maybe in your specific case (although I'm slightly skeptical), but not in the general sense of solar becoming a major player. Even without backup solar is still generally more expensive per watt/hour, sometimes much more expensive (and that's not even considering the extra interest/time value of money cost brought on by solar's costs being more upfront). Backup adds a lot of additional expense, enough to make solar+backup a very questionable source for mass energy production (meaning a significant percentage of the total watt hours produced for a large areas, say the US or the EU).
