Depends where you are; my utility doesn't use coal, and is at 20% renewable.

According to Tesla’s own emissions calculator, if you’re driving your Model S in West Virginia — where the power mix is 96 percent coal — you’re spewing some 27 pounds of CO2 in a typical 40-mile day, which is comparable to the amount you’d emit in a conventional Honda Accord. Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio aren’t much better. On the other hand, if you’re charging your Tesla in California, where natural gas supplies more than half the electricity — or, better yet, Idaho or Washington, where hydroelectricity reigns – your per-mile emissions are a fraction of that amount. Congratulations: Your Model S is a clean machine after all.

It gets worse: Other research shows the massive amounts of energy needed to create an 85
kWh lithium-ion battery results in effective CO2 emissions of 153g per mile over the
life of a Model S battery, based on our assumptions. When the CO2 emitted during
the production of the battery pack are incorporated, we believe the total effective
CO2 emissions of an 85 kWh Model S sedan are 547g per mile - considerably more
than a large SUV, such as a Jeep Grand Cherokee, which emits 443g per mile!

An honest and full life cycle emissions analysis for coal power versus wind power will always show hands down that coal is cleaner than wind-factoring in mining the iron ore to make the steel for the towers, housings, shipping, smelting, shipping again, manufacturing, shipping again, installation, life of wind turbine and tower, decommissioning, same for the rare earth magnets, wiring, etc.....hydro is also much dirtier than coal as hydro is THE #1 largest annual emitter of methane which is 20 times as potent as C02 (provided you believe C02 is a problem to begin with).....
