So what you are saying is that the thrift-minded MIS manager who bought into the $3000 NT system has to explain to the accountants why the upgrade will cost $11000 and that there have been a few changes to the licensing agreement...

Here is where the beauty of it all lies: do I eat the $3000 and go back to UNIX with my tail between my legs or do I fork over another $11000 today and pretend that $11000+$3000 does not add up to the $14000 that I might have spent on a UNIX box. When Bill was touring China he no doubt was fascinated by the "death of a thousand cuts" exhibit at the old Imperial Palace.
