I bet against BAANF a while back based on its sky-high valuation and lost about 60% of the put premium of the puts I bought. There are others in this area. If you time it right you can win big, but it ain't easy. Earnings has practically nothing to do with it. While I had puts, BAANF lost some contracts and that certainly didn't do it -- at least not enough. I think your model would work well if the marketplace for software for an average standalone user was competetive. It doesn't seem to be terrribly competitive. Looks locked up.
