That cute little cartoon the Obama folks created to illustrate how the president’s policies would provide “health and economic security” for women at all of life’s stages? The real-life Julias aren’t buying. A CNN/ORC International poll out this week finds 60 percent of women opposing ObamaCare. This follows a Kaiser Health Tracking Poll that found half of American women holding an unfavorable view of the law — against only 32 percent in support. In fact, almost all of the increase in the overall unpopularity of ObamaCare can be attributed to the growing number of women rebelling against it. snip The CEO of the Independent Women’s Forum, Heather Higgins, puts it well. “The members of the Obama administration,” she told us, “have really been users and abusers of women, trading on their trust, plying them with false promises, offering them small benefits, while taking away the most important things: not only the plans they liked and counted on, but their personal relationships with the very doctors on whom so many rely.” The incredible thing here is not that American women are turning against President Obama because of his horrible health-care law. The Boston Herald Matt Stout Friday, December 27, 2013 Excerpt: President Obama’s tanking approval rating in newly released polls shows Americans are tired of his whining, according to some experts, who also see a fighting chance for Republicans to rack up coast-to-coast victories in the 2014 midterm congressional races. “We think of presidents as being morale leaders ... and he goes out and complains,” said Richard Benedetto, a retired White House correspondent and a journalism professor at American University. “He complains about the fact that he doesn’t get enough cooperation from the other side. ‘It’s not my fault, it’s the Republicans’ fault.’ And that message gets old for the American public. ... It’s not a good sign for Democrats in Congress going into next year.” A Gallup poll released yesterday showed Obama’s approval rating at a paltry 39 percent, its lowest since October 2011, when just 38 percent of Americans gave him a thumbs-up. Even more troubling, Benedetto said, are the 54 percent of Americans Gallup says disapprove of the job Obama is doing. “That’s high,” Benedetto said. “The public just doesn’t feel good. I think it needs a president to lift them out of it ... and President Obama is not living up to that standard.” The botched rollout of Obamacare has helped drag the president’s rating down for months; since early November, he’s struggled to keep his head above 40 percent. snip
