SUNW and other hardware and software companies might get hurt some due to companies spending more money on year 2000 problems and reducing the amount of money left for new hardware and software. Companies will have more personnel costs than usual. Though I see a limiting factor to the down side is that companies will have to run test systems which will need the appropriate hardware and software before putting year 2000 certified systems into production.
I've read at least one post where someone couldn't buy a year 2000 LEAP due to computer problems. Y2K problems are starting already!
