John; I have no problem with Midicare nor do I with SS. So not much sense debating about that - other than a small minority most accept the programs. And I'm even willing to acknowledge that maybe we could find another better word than "debatable" - but to think health care will be a roaring success just because it is patterned after Medicare and SS is more wishful thinking on your part than established fact.

Oh, I agree with that, somewhat. The ACA is, unfortunately, not patterned after Medicare and SS, nor has it been sold, by and large, as a way to address communal needs. But whatever happens to it, at this point in the story it's simply wrong to say the American population won't accept programs in which they pay for others benefits. That's what started this conversation.
