How do you explain a lag of 46 months? The only possible way within monetary concepts is to claim huge slack, but then, if folk get cash, they still can't do biz

Would not globalization, account for this. So many US dollars are distributed over seas, be it by black market, illicit conversion, or just enterprise. Hoards of capital from M2 is stored in places and by people or entities who can not easily place that capital into service. There are probably a whole list of complex variables about the why's of it.

I thought we had a capitalist economy.

As soon as I read that, I knew I was wrong. I even know how and why I made the mistake (but that's only interesting to me).

I hope you have a Good New Year.

Here's the poem

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind ?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and auld lang syne* ?

For auld lang syne, my jo,
for auld lang syne,
we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

And surely ye’ll be your pint-stowp !
and surely I’ll be mine !
And we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne

For auld lang syne, my jo,
for auld lang syne,
we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

We twa hae run about the braes,
and pu’d the gowans fine ;
But we’ve wander’d mony a weary fit,
sin auld lang syne.

For auld lang syne, my jo,
for auld lang syne,
we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

We twa hae paidl’d i' the burn,
frae morning sun till dine ;
But seas between us braid hae roar’d
sin auld lang syne.

For auld lang syne, my jo,
for auld lang syne,
we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

And there’s a hand, my trusty fiere !
and gie's a hand o’ thine !
And we’ll tak a right gude-willy waught,
for auld lang syne.

For auld lang syne, my jo,
for auld lang syne,
we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

Nice rendition here:
