And I do believe there is wording in that bill that does take care of the "disparity" charges you refer to--so maybe it's two steps instead of one. (G) Doing this from memory though.

I first became shocked at hospital billing when my mom was in for a heart procedure about 20 years ago. I was sitting in her room, she was sleeping, and bored, I was reading one of her itemized bills. There was no reason to read it, as her insurance was paying for everything.

They billed each cottonball at $.50. You could buy a bag of 100 in the pharmacy for $1.
