Look at 1886-1887. A brutally cold winter preceded by heat waves and prairie fires in the US. Greenhouse gases act as a thermostat, so seeing extreme temperature variations and strong synoptic patterns is opposite to what I would expect under global warming theory. en.wikipedia.org High pressure systems are heat waves in the summer and cold air outbreaks in the winter. They are also synoptic systems associated with the jet stream.
