People left after the market crashed. After Elgindy's trial there was a drop off. It had nothing to do with how SI is run. 2008 changed everything. I think every single stock chat board posting decreased. I don't think "they" are afraid of anything.

There is no competition for SI. It may not be for everyone, but all I know really like reading it now. They have more to offer than Yahoo or Motley or any of the other sites and they've retained many of the best who used to post here. Some of the worst offenders on chat boards have moved on or been held accountable for their spam, harassment or off-topic comments. It's a much better environment for the private investor than it ever was in the past.

I can definitely relate to this numbers. After arrogant respond from that monkey I reduced my posting. I know I'm not the only one. Few told me in PM that they stopped posting or they are only communicating through PM. Because of 'new SI' - so part of decline I know where is coming from....
