"until they get sick."
Then they pay a whopping big medical bill out-of-pocket.
"Then they'll sign up for insurance knowing they can't be denied for "pre-existing conditions."

<<"Instead, I'm talking about those who will voluntarily forego insurance (and pay whatever ObamaCare mandate penalty necessary) until they get sick. Then they'll sign up for insurance knowing they can't be denied for "pre-existing conditions.">>

But, they'll have to wait for the next year's sign up period. Until then, they're on their own dime. I hope they live to enroll.

I just called MY insurer here in Utah, and was asked to call back in a few days, as the crush of enrollments from people just like me have them way behind in their processing of new signups.

I think it IS going to work, and I think 10's of millions of people will be signed up by the time the enrollment period ends in March. I'll go out on a limb and predict that 40 million people will sign up by then.

The press stories will change from bash Obamacare and bash the website to stories about how people's lives have been changed and improved by having access to insurance. People will be told what it's like to live without insurance, and what it's like to have decent insurance.

Obama will be revered in the future for this, this act that improved American's lives, and made the system behave in a fairer manner.

You mean a chronic illness? Because unless you happen to fall ill during the open enrollment period, you'd be out of luck...
