Caterpillar announcement slated Thursday Wednesday December 10, 8:59 pm Eastern Time CHICAGO, Dec 10 (Reuters) - Construction and mining equipment manufacturer Caterpillar Inc (NYSE:CAT - news) said on Wednesday it would make an announcement and hold a conference call with financial analysts Thursday morning. The Peoria, Ill.-based company refused to disclose the nature of the announcement. The company said it would begin the conference call at 0800 local time (0900 EST/1400 GMT). Analysts declined to speculate over whether the announcement might relate to a change in the company's outlook, an acquisition, a management change or something else. Caterpillar shares closed down 10/16 at 49-15/16 Wednesday. >>
