A buddy of mine lives in Yellowknife in the Northwest Territories which took the full brunt of that breakout of Arctic air which is powering all these weather events. The other day it hit -53 (or -63F) in Yellowknife, something they are not used to even that far north.

Hi Benny,

Where in NJ is the record low temperature at -1F? When I lived there and commuted to college, I distinctly remember a low temperature of -5F one winter morning while waiting for the train. It was so cold that the water fountain inside the train station froze solid. BTW, that was in downtown Somerville, NJ where -5F was considered downright balmy compared to surrounding rural areas in central NJ and more northerly/northwesterly towns in higher NJ terrain.

EK!!!
