That's one of the reasons I still keep an account at AG Edwards. On my farsight trades, I rarely get pleasant surprises. I'm sure the whole order gets submitted to an MM and gets filled at my limit, or, as often happens when I place a big order, it's allowed to sit while the Ask goes up.

When I do the same trade through AGE, they *work* the order. I suspect that on stocks they're familiar with, they'll break the order up if they think doing so will prevent me scaring the price up. Not at all unusual for me to buy a stock through AGE and actually pay *less* than my limit, or sell for more than it. On many trades, the difference more than offsets the high commissions.
