Your obsession with these numbers, and other SI happenings boggles my mind. The majority of SI members just use the service, and a few others ridicule it on a regular basis, just like trolls and hatters. (Hatters is a YouTube thing)

You shouldn't be boggled. I believe this "obsession" is directly related to the high-handed attitude displayed by current management, through the administration, toward users who have posed legitimate concerns and questions.

Boggled, indeed!

Ron,

I don't know if this thread is only for griping, but at the risk of being stalked, taunted and hated even more that I already am, may I say thank you for the Tweet Embed feature. I know it's BETA but I hope you keep it. Nice to tie in the technology and company on SI.

On that note, I still can't figure out how to past a HTML without it coming out all screwy. I looked at the "practice your HTML" here site and I don't know which program to use.

I want to be able to highlight something on a web page that can't be saved as Jpeg or webpage complete, Do Ctl C and then Ctl V it somewhere. I still think the RAW TEXT thing is confusing because on the tutorial it says to have it on RAW TEXT when you do this, but I'm not sure why. I thought it was because I was supposed to write in code.

I would like to suggest that there be some kind of "icon" explanation and use page or something for old and new users alike. This was not here back in the day and I can tell other people aren't using them.

Now I know you will probably say, "it's all here...." and I'm notorious for not looking in the obvious place, so please let me (and others who have asked this question of me) know if there's a one-stop help page that goes over each of the message icons.

Thanks in advance,

ND

That's a function of having been here for thousands of hours over 17 years now - the members ARE part of the business, not just idle shoppers who wander past your window now and then. And we are supposed to be in the middle of a WONDERFUL reinvention but there is no word at all from ownership about where we are or where we are going or how any of this is being done, since management hides behind its veil of secrecy and won't utter a syllable to the members who MAKE THE SITE WORTH READING EVERY DAY.

Since you guys are playing cute and mute, those of us with inquiring minds look at the available data to parse out what is happening. You can't hide the info that is out there even by deleting posts or banning posters. Did it ever occur to you that people who work full-time in the market are all about curiosity and investigating things they are involved with?

Your fantasy of a service with docile sheep never questioning the word handed down from the big house is just that, a fantasy. Unless you want to start banning anyone who even raises an eyebrow at the Mystical Man Behind The Curtain.

You want more respect from members, then earn it.

1. Why was the PR about SI's sale never released to the media?

2. How many active posters post on a given day?

3. How many new members signed up for SI in 2013?

4. Where is SI being marketed?

5. What is the vision for the site a year from now and five years from now?

Duck them all you like, the questions won't go away. And we won't even start on what is going on behind the scenes. That is for future episodes.
