The skill sets that they have take years to develop.

You have to have an FAA license (Mechanics) to build an aircraft and that takes a number of years to apprentice on before you qualify for a license.


I'm sure it takes years of training to learn how to install TP holders in the lavs, or how to screw in light bulbs in the overhead racks.

I'm sure I could learn how to attach wheels to the landing gear in less than a day.
