The NY Times Unwittingly Destroys Obama
...........................................................................
By Caroline Glick - January 5, 2014
realclearpolitics.com

The New York Times just delivered a mortal blow to the Obama administration
and its Middle East policy.

Call it fratricide. It was clearly unintentional.

Indeed, is far from clear that the paper realizes what it has done.

Last Saturday the Times published an 8,000-word account by David Kirkpatrick detailing the terrorist strike against the US Consulate and the CIA annex in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11, 2012. In it, Kirkpatrick tore to shreds the foundations of President Barack Obama’s counterterrorism strategy and his overall policy in the Middle East.

Obama first enunciated those foundations in his June 4, 2009, speech to the Muslim world at Cairo University. Ever since, they have been the rationale behind US counterterror strategy and US Middle East policy.

Obama’s first assertion is that radical Islam is not inherently hostile to the US. As a consequence, America can appease radical Islamists.

Moreover, once radical Muslims are appeased, they will become US allies, (replacing the allies the US abandons to appease the radical Muslims).

Obama’s second strategic guidepost is his claim that the only Islamic group that is a bona fide terrorist organization is the faction of al-Qaida
directly subordinate to Osama bin Laden’s successor, Ayman al-Zawahiri. Only this group cannot be appeased and must be destroyed through force.

The administration has dubbed the Zawahiri faction of al-Qaida “core al-Qaida.” And anyone who operates in the name of al-Qaida, or any other group that does not have courtroom-certified operational links to Zawahiri, is not really al-Qaida, and therefore, not really a terrorist group or a US enemy.

These foundations have led the US to negotiate with the Taliban in Afghanistan. They are the rationale for the US’s embrace of the Muslim Brotherhood worldwide. They are the basis for Obama’s allegiance to Turkey’s Islamist government, and his early support for the Muslim Brotherhood-dominated Syrian opposition.

They are the basis for the administration’s kneejerk support for the PLO against Israel.

Obama’s insistent bid to appease Iran, and so enable the mullocracy to complete its nuclear weapons program. is similarly a product of his strategic assumptions. So, too, the US’s current diplomatic engagement of Hezbollah in Lebanon owes to the administration’s conviction that any terror group not directly connected to Zawahiri is a potential US ally.

From the outset of the 2011 revolt against the regime of Muammar Gaddafi in Libya, it was clear that a significant part of the opposition was composed of jihadists aligned if not affiliated with al-Qaida. Benghazi was specifically identified by documents seized by US forces in Iraq as a hotbed of al-Qaida recruitment.

Obama and his advisers dismissed and ignored the evidence.
The core of al-Qaida, they claimed, was not involved in the anti-Gaddafi revolt. And to the extent jihadists were fighting Gaddafi, they were doing so as allies of the US.

In other words, the two core foundations of Obama’s understanding of terrorism and of the Muslim world were central to US support for the overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi.

With Kirkpatrick’s report, the Times exposed the utter falsity of both.

Kirkpatrick showed the mindset of the US-supported rebels and through it, the ridiculousness of the administration’s belief that you can’t be a terrorist if you aren’t directly subordinate to Zawahiri.

One US-supported Islamist militia commander recalled to him that at the outset of the anti-Gaddafi rebellion, “Teenagers came running around… [asking] ‘Sheikh, sheikh, did you know al-Qaida? Did you know Osama bin Laden? How do we fight?” In the days and weeks following the September 11, 2012, attack on the US installations in Benghazi in which US ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens and four other Americans were killed, the administration claimed that the attacks were not carried out by terrorists. Rather they were the unfortunate consequence of a spontaneous protest by otherwise innocent Libyans.

According to the administration’s version of events, these guileless, otherwise friendly demonstrators, who killed the US ambassador and four other Americans, were simply angered by a You- Tube video
of a movie trailer which jihadist clerics in Egypt had proclaimed was blasphemous.

In an attempt to appease the mob after the fact, Obama and then-secretary of state Hillary Clinton were filmed in commercials run on Pakistani television apologizing for the video
and siding with the mob against the movie-maker, who is the only person the US has imprisoned following the attack. Then-ambassador to the UN and current National Security Adviser Susan Rice gave multiple television interviews placing the blame for the attacks on the video.

According to Kirkpatrick’s account of the assault against the US installations in Benghazi on September 11, 2012, the administration’s description of the assaults was a fabrication. Far from spontaneous political protests spurred by rage at a YouTube video, the attack was premeditated.
US officials spotted Libyans conducting surveillance of the consulate nearly 15 hours before the attack began.

Libyan militia warned US officials “of rising threats against Americans from extremists in Benghazi,” two days before the attack.

From his account, the initial attack – in which the consulate was first stormed – was carried out not by a mob, but by a few dozen fighters. They were armed with assault rifles. They acted in a coordinated, professional manner with apparent awareness of US security procedures.

During the initial assault, the attackers shot down the lights around the compound, stormed the gates, and swarmed around the security personnel who ran to get their weapons, making it impossible for them to defend the ambassador and other personnel trapped inside.

According to Kirkpatrick, after the initial attack, the organizers spurred popular rage and incited a mob assault on the consulate by spreading the rumor that the Americans had killed a local. Others members of the secondary mob, Kirkpatrick claimed, were motivated by reports of the video.

This mob assault, which followed the initial attack and apparent takeover of the consulate, was part of the predetermined plan. The organizers wanted to produce chaos. As Kirkpatrick explained, “The attackers had posted sentries at Venezia Road, adjacent to the [consulate] compound, to guard their rear flank, but they let pass anyone trying to join the mayhem.”

According to Kirkpatrick, the attack was perpetrated by local terrorist groups that were part of the US-backed anti-Gaddafi coalition. The people who were conducting the surveillance of the consulate 15 hours before the attack were uniformed security forces who escaped in an official car.

Members of the militia tasked with defending the compound participated in the attack.

Ambassador Stevens, who had served as the administration’s emissary to the rebels during the insurrection against Gaddafi, knew personally many of the terrorists who orchestrated the attack.

And until the very end, he was taken in by the administration’s core belief that it was possible to appease al-Qaida-sympathizing Islamic jihadists who were not directly affiliated with Zawahiri.

As Kirkpatrick noted, Stevens “helped shape the Obama administration’s conviction that it could work with the rebels, even those previously hostile to the West, to build a friendly, democratic government.”

The entire US view that local militias, regardless of their anti-American, jihadist ideologies, could become US allies was predicated not merely on the belief that they could be appeased, but that they weren’t terrorists because they weren’t al-Qaida proper.

As Kirkpatrick notes, “American intelligence efforts in Libya concentrated on the agendas of the biggest militia leaders and the handful of Libyans with suspected ties to al-Qaida. The fixation on al-Qaida might have distracted experts from more imminent threats.”

But again, the only reason that the intelligence failed to notice the threats emanating from local US-supported terrorists is because the US counterterrorist strategy, like its overall Middle East strategy, is to seek to appease all US enemies other than the parts of al-Qaida directly commanded by Ayman al-Zawahiri.

Distressingly, most of the discussion spurred by Kirkpatrick’s article has ignored the devastating blow he visited on the intellectual foundations of Obama’s foreign policy. Instead, the discussion has focused on his claim that there is “no evidence that al-Qaida or other international terrorist group had any role in the assault,” and on his assertion that the YouTube video did spur to action some of the participants in the assault.

Kirkpatrick’s claim that al-Qaida played no role in the attack was refuted by the Times’ own reporting six weeks after the attack. It has also been refuted by congressional and State Department investigations, by the UN and by a raft of other reporting.

His claim that the YouTube video did spur some of the attackers to action was categorically rejected last spring in sworn congressional testimony by then-deputy chief of the US mission to Libya Gregory Hicks.

Last May Hicks stated, “The YouTube video was a non-event in Libya. The video was not instigative of anything that was going on in Libya. We saw no demonstrators related to the video anywhere in Libya.”

Kirkpatrick’s larger message – that the reasoning behind Obama’s entire counterterrorist strategy and his overall Middle East policy is totally wrong, and deeply destructive – has been missed because his article was written and published to whitewash the administration’s deliberate mischaracterization of the events in Benghazi,
not to discredit the rationale behind its Middle East policy and counterterrorism strategy. This is why he claimed that al-Qaida wasn’t involved in the attack. And this is why he claimed that the YouTube video was a cause for the attack.

This much was made clear in a blog post by editorial page editor Andrew Rosenthal, who alleged that the entire discourse on Benghazi is promoted by the Republicans to harm the Democrats, and Kirkpatrick’s story served to weaken the Republican arguments. In Rosenthal’s words, “The Republicans hope to tarnish Democratic candidates by making it seem as though Mr. Obama doesn’t take al-Qaida seriously.”

So pathetically, in a bid to defend Obama and Clinton and the rest of the Democrats, the Times published a report that showed that Obama’s laser-like focus on the Zawahiri-controlled faction of al-Qaida has endangered the US.

By failing to view as enemies any other terror groups – even if they have participated in attacks against the US – and indeed, in perceiving them as potential allies, Obama has failed to defend against them.
Indeed, by wooing them as future allies, Obama has empowered forces as committed as al-Qaida to defeating the US.

Again, it is not at all apparent that the Times realized what it was doing. But from Israel to Egypt, to Iran to Libya to Lebanon, it is absolutely clear that Obama and his colleagues continue to implement the same dangerous, destructive agenda that defeated the US in Benghazi and will continue to cause US defeat after US defeat.

Yale Professor Died Of Meth-Induced Heart Attack
..............................................................................................................

The College Fix ^ | 1/8/2014

A young, homosexual Yale University professor who died inside a jail cell last November - prompting members of the Yale community to march in protest, accuse officers of police brutality, and demand “accountability” – had actually succumbed to a methamphetamine overdose and heart attack, according to authorities.

“Samuel See died of acute methamphetamine and amphetamine intoxication with recent myocardial infarction,” reports The Courant, citing the medical examiner. ”His death was ruled an accident.”

In December, in the wake of See’s death, roughly 40 protestors chanted “justice for Sam See” and “police accountability” as they marched through the Yale campus, the Yale Daily News reported, adding the group sought an independent investigation into the English professor’s arrest and incarceration.

See, whose academic specialties were British and American modernist literature and sexual orientation studies, was on leave during the Fall 2013 semester. During his spare time, See was also reportedly a male escort who loved sex and being with men.

See had been arrested Nov. 23 after a domestic altercation with his estranged husband. As police attempted to arrest See, he fought with officers and suffered minor injuries. He was found unresponsive in his jail cell the next morning.

The Left's Valentine to Defiant Jihad-Enabler Lynne Stewart

..........................................................................................................

Article:

What are you doing for Valentine's Day? Bleeding-heart progressives across the country are raising money for "an evening of music, song and sharing love for recently released People's Lawyer Lynne Stewart." Warm fuzzies for one of the world's most notorious terrorist helpers? I can't think of a more stomach-turning way to mark the holiday.

Thanks to the Obama administration, Stewart walked out of prison on New Year's Eve. She is reportedly suffering stage-four breast cancer. Now she's passing the plate among her supporters, asking them to foot the bill for her health insurance deductibles and co-pays, as well as for a "special diet, vitamins and other healing methods." What, no Obamacare?

Has Stewart shown exceptional remorse or good behavior to warrant such compassion? Don't forget: Both the Bureau of Prisons and a federal judge previously had denied Stewart's petition for a compassionate release, but a U.S. Attorney intervened. This preferential treatment is extraordinary: Since 1992, the annual average number of prisoners who receive compassionate release has been less than two-dozen.

Let me remind you of what she did, who benefited, who died and how she has acted since being caught red-handed and freed.

Stewart was convicted in 2005 of helping terrorist Omar Abdel Rahman — the murderous Blind Sheik — smuggle coded messages of Islamic violence to outside followers in violation of an explicit pledge to abide by her client's court-ordered isolation. Rahman, Stewart's "political client," had called on Muslims to "destroy" the West, "burn their companies, eliminate their interests, sink their ships, shoot down their planes, kill them on the sea, air or land." He issued bloody fatwas against U.S. "infidels" that inspired the 1993 WTC bombing, the 1997 massacre of Western tourists in Luxor, Egypt, and the 9/11 attacks.

Stewart ignored a judge's communications ban, transmitting Rahman's edicts of violence to fellow jihadist Rifa'l Ahman Tara in Egypt.
She smuggled out a coded order to his followers lifting a ceasefire between his terrorist group and the Egyptian government. She personally delivered one of the messages to a Reuters reporter.

Far from the innocent grandma her supporters continue to portray her as, Stewart was caught on video making distracting "covering noises" — tapping the table, shaking a water jar — for the Blind Sheik's translator to evade the communications ban.

After receiving a measly initial sentence of 28 months for abetting terrorism, the disbarred civil rights attorney was re-sentenced to 10 years in jail. A federal panel of judges felt the need to spotlight her smugness. "From the moment she committed the first act for which she was convicted, through her trial, sentencing and appeals," Judge Robert Sack of the Second Circuit Court of Appeals wrote, "Stewart has persisted in exhibiting what seems to be a stark inability to understand the seriousness of her crimes."

Stewart failed to understand "the breadth and depth of the danger in which" her crimes had "placed the lives and safety of unknown innocents, and the extent to which they constituted an abuse of her trust and privilege as a member of the bar," the panel concluded.

This jihad-coddling grandmother remains defiant. She called 9/11 an "armed struggle." Upon her initial sentencing, she boasted that she could serve the term "standing on her head." After she was convicted of aiding and abetting Rahman, she told an interviewer she "would do it again."

She has repeatedly told liberal sycophantic journalists that she would not have done anything differently.

Dems declare war on Inspector General who uncovered IRS scandal
................................................................
by Thomas Lifson February 8, 2014
americanthinker.com

The IRS scandal is so bad that Democrats are unleashing total war in an attempt to beat back a full airing of the abuse. The old adage, "The best defense is a good offense," is all the more valid when the major media outlets are on their side. It is not necessary to have any actual facts to use as rebuttal for the indefensible; it is enough to simply throw a cloud of dust, so as to discredit any charges - in the eyes of supporters and media sycophants.

President Obama's absurd contention to Bill O'Reilly that there was "not a smidgen" of corruption despite his initial expression of "outrage" over the IRS's behavior is part of this strategy. But another part consists of an attempt to discredit anyone who threatens to come up with genuine investigatory pay dirt. Such a man is Treasury Inspector General Russell George. Josh Hicks of the Washington Post reports:

Two House Democrats on Thursday called for an investigation of a federal auditor who accused the Internal Revenue Service of gross mismanagement and targeting advocacy groups for extra scrutiny based on their names and policy positions.

Reps. Gerry Connolly (D-Va.) and Matt Cartwright (D-Penn.) on Wednesday filed a complaint with a special watchdog council questioning the independence of Treasury Department inspector general J. Russell George.

The congressmen, both of whom serve as top Democrats on House oversight committees, said George produced a "fundamentally flawed performance audit" that was "incomplete" and "outright misleading." They also alleged that he held briefings with Republican members of the House Oversight Committee without the knowledge of Democrats on the panel. (snip)

The inspector general's report, released in May, said the IRS "used inappropriate criteria that identified for review Tea Party and other organizations applying for tax-exempt status." Earlier that month, then-IRS official Lois Lerner alluded to the findings when she acknowledged in response to a planted question that the agency had targeted groups with "tea party" and "patriot" in their names.

George's audit led to public outrage, six federal probes and a leadership shakeup at the IRS. It also prompted the Treasury Department to draft a new guideline to distinguish what types of political activities disqualify groups from tax-exempt status.

These accomplishments are significant in and of themselves. But there is far more dirt, and potentially smoking gun evidence of White House involvement that must be a tremendous concern to the Democrats.

If evidence is found of Obama's involvement in weaponizing the IRS to target the tea party, that would clearly be an impeachable offense. It may be politically impossible to impeach the First Black President, bit nobody in the Democratic Party wants to test that out, should such evidence be uncovered by an Inspector General. Reining in Russell George is thus a high priority. President Nixon's Articles of Impeachment, on which Hillary Clinton worked as a committee staffer, included that very charge, something that is highly awkward for a party that appears likely to nominate her for the presidency.

Inspectors General are the taxpayers' best friends in Washington, DC, charged with investigating waste and corruption, and for that reason have been the targets of the Obama administration's Ongoing War on Inspectors General, documented by Ed Lasky over the past several years. It is Chicago-style politics to threaten anyone who can uncover inconvenient dirt. Obama is notorious for his "they bring a knife, you bring a gun" style of political hardball, and an inspector general who threatens to uncover scandal is an obvious target.

Why Dems Are Willing to Flout the Law in Texas 2014 Election
..........................................................................................................
by Ken Blackwell and Ken Klukowski 19 Feb 2014
breitbart.com

National Democrats and liberal activists are taking enormous legal and political risks with the lawless activities in Texas caught on the Project Veritas tapes. But they see Texas as such a strategic prize that they believe it’s worth that risk, and that victory must be achieved at any cost. When registering voters, Texas law makes it illegal for a volunteer registrar to “transcribe, copy, or otherwise record a telephone number furnished on a registration application.” It specifically provides that you cannot copy the name, address, or phone number.

Yet the latest video James O’Keefe has made public, focused primarily on a woman named Jennifer Longoria who is designated as Field Organizer for Battleground Texas, shows them openly saying that when they register voters they copy the phone number into their database, so that they can call those people at a later date.

Battleground Texas is an organization dedicated to turning Texas blue—that is, making it a Democratic state, as it was years ago when the Democratic Party was focused on other issues, and known for robust national defense and a respect for cultural issues such as gun rights. The same state that elected Rick Perry as governor and Ted Cruz as senator could be transformed into a place where someone like Wendy Davis, who is staunchly anti-gun, pro-abortion, and a devoted supporter of Obamacare seeking to expand government-run healthcare, is setting the agenda.

An essential part of building the apparatus to make this happen is the extension of no-holds-barred data collection. In elections, knowledge is power. Every person cares about many issues to one degree or another. If you have enough information on each potential voter, you can micro-target each person by sending direct communications that frame the election only on those matters where a voter might support one candidate, even if the opposing candidate better represents that person on most of the issues that are important to him or her.

As Longoria is quoted on the video, “That data collection is the key.” This information gives them a clear picture of who their voters are, and where they are. Once you know that, you can turn out those people to the polls. Elections are decided by a relatively small number of people. If you can target those people and motivate them, you can flip the outcome of an election and move Texas—or any state—in a completely different direction from what the majority of the citizens actually prefer.

If you look at the data dump that they’re getting through various sources, it can add up to a game-changer.

Texas is a big prize. It’s the second largest state. It has a ton of money. But it also has a huge non-white population. Democrats understand that if they can advance a racially-divisive agenda in Texas, and scuttle a conservative Republican-driven agenda that empowers minorities, then they hope over a period of years to turn Texas blue.

Texas also carries a block of electoral votes that no conservative can win the White House without. If Texas loses its grounding as a bastion of limited government and respect for the Constitution, no Republican could win the presidency unless and until there would be some major realignment of America’s political parties.

National Democrats also look at Wendy Davis as someone who can help move their brand nationally. Just as Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton billed themselves as centrists—then governed from the left while in office—Davis could obscure her committed devotion to liberal causes and cast herself as a cultural Southerner. She could be effective at peeling off blocks of various groups by feeding false narratives like the deceptive idea of a War on Women to help left-wing national candidates.

Look at what liberal activists and ultra-wealthy donors have done in Colorado.

This was a state that was booming under policies that empowered individuals, focused on families, and respected individual rights.

Now massive expansions of government, rapid legalizing of drugs, and an outright war on religious liberty and the Second Amendment right to bear arms is what you see imposed statewide, even though countless citizens across the state oppose such measures. The change happened in less than a decade, as a direct result of an extremely well-funded effort that gathered information and targeted small pockets of the population, just like we’re seeing in Texas.

This story also sees the resurrection of the disgraced and disgraceful organization once known as ACORN. Breitbart News’ original blockbuster story when this media outlet was launched was with stunning reports of lawless and corrupt activity with this organization, mobilized around the principles of Saul Alinsky. And now Wade Rathke—the founder of ACORN himself—shows up in this Project Veritas videotape, portrayed as allegedly being at the center of the effort to fundamentally change the Lone Star State.

Also consider the disturbing tie to Obamacare in this video.

Operatives from ACORN are now found nationwide in these pseudo-voter-registration outfits and in Obamacare sign-up groups. It purports to quote Clarence Landry from Enroll America, which is a group dedicated to signing as many people as possible into the federal government takeover of healthcare called Obamacare. Landry adds, “Battleground Texas, we network with them, we work with them.” He concludes by saying, “this is the same brainchild with Enroll America.”

This is deeply disturbing. Personal health information is among the most sensitive and potentially-embarrassing information that exists about a person. It can be terribly damaging and open a person up to extortion.

You want healthcare to be as far removed from electoral politics as possible; you do not want those signing people into a national healthcare apparatus to be networking and working with an outfit of nothing-off-limits political operators whose admitted goal is to change the outcome of elections.

You saw this overall approach with the Obama campaign two years ago. As one of countless examples, they did it with Obamaphones, they targeted low-information voters who were likely to be dependent on government to turn them out, and used the information they gained from the phone registration to target those voters. And—like with Obamacare—the Obamaphone program was not a supporter-funded organizational effort, it was a taxpayer-funded government program, one designed and run by Obama political operatives.

Barack Obama’s strategy in 2012 was not a major turnout of voters. It was instead to target different issues in different states to change the composition of the electorate that actually shows up at the polls on Election Day. And it worked.

That’s why these leftist organizers are willing to push the limits in Texas, and some will even cross the line if they think they can get away with it. They see it as a state that has such strategic value for the national Democratic Party liberal agenda that they will win it at any cost. If they do, all Americans may pay a price.

Ken Blackwell formerly served as Ohio Secretary of State and a senior fellow at the American Civil Rights Union.

Democrats Defeat Amendments to Protect Americans from Obama IRS Abuses
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
February 28, 2014 By TPNN

SEN. TED CRUZ: ”EVERYONE SHOULD AGREE THE IRS SHOULD NOT BE A TOOL FOR PARTISAN WARFARE

WASHINGTON, DC
– U.S. Sen. Cruz, R-Texas, today offered two amendments in the Judiciary Committee to safeguard citizens’ free speech against unlawful and unjust targeting and designations by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

“Nearly nine months ago, President Obama declared the IRS’s illegal targeting of conservative groups ‘intolerable and inexcusable,’ yet his administration has authored a new rule to specifically limit free speech for many of those groups, which are classified as ‘social welfare’ organizations,” Sen. Cruz stated.

“Free speech is not a partisan issue. The IRS has no business meddling with the First Amendment rights of Americans. Rather than further stifling free speech, the IRS and the Department of Justice should provide the American people with all the facts surrounding the IRS’s targeting of certain organizations based on their political activity. We should all agree the IRS should not be used as a tool for partisan warfare.”

Sen. Cruz’s first amendment would have prohibited an IRS employee from intentionally targeting individuals or groups based on political views. It would have made it a crime for an IRS employee to willfully discriminate against groups based solely on the political beliefs or policy statements held, expressed, or published by that organization.

The second amendment would have amended the tax code to use the bipartisan, independent FEC’s definitions to determine whether an organization is engaging in political activity. The IRS should focus on taxation, rather than determining what is political activity.

Democrats on the Judiciary Committee unanimously opposed the amendments, defeating them both.

...........................................................................................
By Kenneth R. Timmerman March 2, 2014
nypost.com

Even as the Obama administration denounced what it called anti-gay legislation in Arizona and the president sat out the Sochi Olympics because of Russia’s crackdown on same-sex couples, the State Department allowed an Islamic preacher who called for the death penalty for homosexuals
into the country for a tour of hate.

Sheikh Mohammad Rateb al-Nabulsi was issued a visa for a 17-city tour of US mosques to raise money and support for the Syrian uprising. He arrived New Year’s Day.

The radical Syrian cleric has made no secret of his virulent anti-gay views. Appearing April 28, 2011, on al Aqsa TV, the official network of the Hamas terrorist organization in Gaza, al-Nabulsi said: “Homosexuality involves a filthy place and does not generate offspring. Homosexuality leads to the destruction of the homosexual. That is why, brothers, homosexuality carries the death penalty.”

The radical’s remarks were translated into English and widely distributed in the diplomatic and intelligence communities. The independent Middle East Media Research Institute, MEMRI, translated a 2¹/2-minute segment from the speech, in which al-Nabulsi explained with clear contempt the spread of homosexual practices in Western countries.

In addition to his anti-gay pronouncements, Sheikh al-Nabulsi has publicly endorsed holy war against Westerners and Jews as well as suicide bombings against Israel, America’s democratic ally in the region.

“All the Jewish people are combatants,” he said in a religious edict that appeared in Arabic on his personal website.

“[The Israelis] do not have a regular army; they have a reserve army, and all the people can fight, so this is essentially an entirely aggressive entity from A to Z. This is the Sharia ruling.”

“The enemy . . . says ‘suicide operations’ to deceive Muslims, that this is suicide, but we should call them ‘martyrdom operations,’ ” he said.

The Muslim leader came to the United States for a fundraising tour for a newly formed coalition of radical Islamist militias fighting Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad. The Syrian civil war has cost more than 100,000 civilian lives, according to United Nations’ estimates.

The cleric’s tour was sponsored by the Syrian American Council and Shaam Relief, groups that are spearheading a massive lobbying campaign to convince Congress to support an anti-Assad alliance of Islamist groups, some of them with reported ties to al Qaeda.

During his month-long tour, al-Nabulsi spoke in Arabic to audiences from coast to coast. His appearances, heavily promoted on Facebook, began in Spring Hill, Fla., on Jan. 1 and included a stop in Jersey City. There are no publicly available records of how much money he raised.

The Syrian American Council submitted al-Nabulsi’s visa request to the State Department’s Syria desk. A Department official told the American Media Institute that all visa requests, especially for individuals from countries on the State Department’s list of state sponsors of terrorism, get scrutinized.

“Every visa applicant undergoes a screening to detect connections to terrorism, and that includes inputs from multiple federal partners,” the official said.

Asked whether al-Nabulsi’s televised remarks calling for killing homosexuals and Jews should have banned him from travel to America, a second State Department official, specializing in visa requests, pointed to Section 212(a)(3) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, which covers a broad range of terrorist-related activity, including promoting the use of violence and incitement. Nonetheless, the visa was issued.

“Under current policy, a foreign national applying for a US visa who is known to have promoted jihad and suicide bombings would be ordinarily deemed ‘undesirable’ and denied a visa,” according to a report from the Investigative Project on Terrorism, a Washington, DC-based group founded by investigative reporter Steven Emerson.

After the Investigative Project on Terrorism published translations of these and other comments from his website, al-Nabulsi issued a statement on Jan. 18, denying that he promoted the killing of civilians.

“It is not permitted to kill civilians, non-combatants, using any method, regardless of their national, ethnic or religious background,” he said in a statement distributed by the Syrian American Council.

Both State Department officials contacted by the American Media Institute regarding al-Nabulsi’s visa referred to his retraction and suggested that “false reporting” was responsible for the furor over his visa.

Within days of AMI’s contact with the State Department, al-Nabulsi removed the reference to killing Jewish civilians from his website.

“They say one thing in Arabic and another in English,” Emerson said. “Deception is part of the arsenal of war, and these guys have perfected deception to an art. They know how to play America and our vulnerabilities so their disinformation is accepted as the truth.”

Or chances are the Obama administration simply wants to look the other way. To avoid offending Muslims, they ignore hate speech.

Obama Must Go

..................................................................................
Townhall.com ^ | 3-3-2014 | John Ransom

As Obama moves from one disaster to the next disaster, it’s clear that he’s lacking the support from citizens here at home, is viewed skeptically by people abroad, and lacks the respect from foreign leaders that the Great Seal of the United States should confer on any president.

“A CBS News/ New York Times poll out tonight find only 40% of Americans are satisfied with the presidency of Barack Obama,” reported CBS News last week. “59% say they're disappointed.”

Only 59 percent? What’s wrong with these people?

Obama’s been beaten on Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and now in Ukraine.

He’s made enemies of allies such as Israel, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

Europe, for the second time since the Prague Spring, is hearing the goosestep march of Russian troops in Europe under the leadership of their new Man of Steel, Vlad the Impaler Putin, as Russians tear apart the Ukraine.

Under Obama’s leadership Russia has begun to sweep up the scattered pieces of their old, lost, iron empire.

And for those who think that Russia is just going into their own back garden, use Google to find out what that means.

Obama, according to our friends over at the Weekly Standard, in response has skipped another national security meeting.

This is how wars start, people.

And just because it won’t happen next week or next year, doesn’t mean I won’t eventually tell you I told you so. Although you’ll probably have died in a thermonuclear blast by then, so I won’t have the satisfaction of you hearing me.

And I’m only slightly joking.

Are we in the United States more secure or less secure than we were six years ago?

Less secure, and it’s growing more acute by the day.

“I think Putin is playing chess,” says Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI), chair of the House Intelligence Committee, “and I think we're playing marbles.”

Almost.

That would be true, but we have lost our marbles a long time ago.

Because Obama’s brand of bungling isn’t limited to foreign affairs, although our problems overseas will be harder to repair than the ones at home.

Before the newest “Greatest Crisis Ever” Obama created in the Ukraine, he was still mired in the multi-year botched attempt at implementing the newest “Worst Legislation Ever” in Obamacare.

Prior to that, he was administering the “Worst Recovery Ever,” after squandering the “Most Money Ever” on stimulus programs that did not stimulate anything.

If John McCain in 2008 had produced a commercial pointing out the real missteps, the incompetence and pure overall stupidity that we have witnessed from this administration for the last six years, Oprah Winfrey would have said “He’s just saying that because Obama is black.”

Which gets us to the question: How on earth did a great nation elect such a strange, unqualified and incompetent man president of the United States, twice?

And no, it’s not because he’s black.

It’s because the GOP is stupid.

The GOP is still more interested hassling their own, than they are in beating Obama.

If Republican National Chairman Reince Priebus and the RNC spent more time worrying about Obama and less time worrying about Sen. Ted Cruz and Lt. Col. Allen West, perhaps they wouldn’t have been bested in 2012.

For all the faux handwringing that the establishment went through about Cruz’ filibuster on Obamacare, he was right, and they were wrong.

It’s time to get stern, to get hardened and to stop playing prevent defense.

It’s time the GOP told the truth: This has been the worst administration in the history of the Republic, and it’s past time for Obama and his enablers* to go.

US: We were ready to act against Iranian arms shipment but Israel volunteered

....................................................................................

Jerusalem Post ^ | March 5, 2014 | MICHAEL WILNER

US State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki confirmed on Wednesday that "the Israeli government interdicted a shipment of illicit Iranian arms," adding that the US was ready to act before Israel made its move. "The White House directed the Department of Defense to monitor the vessel," Psaki said, adding that the US prepared to take "unilateral steps" to stop the shipment. Israel volunteered to handle the ship itself, she added. The transfer of arms would amount to a violation of UN Security Council resolutions, Psaki noted. The Israel Navy intercepted an Iranian arms smuggling ship carrying dozens of long-range rockets to...

Why millennials have abandoned Obama
Dana Milbank Wa Po ^ | March 14 , 2014 |

The day before the Iowa caucuses in 2008, I wrote about the massive crowds of young people at Barack Obama rallies, noting that his candidacy would collapse “if they don’t show up.”

The next night, after Obama’s victory celebration in Des Moines, Obama strategist Steve Hildebrand spotted me in a crowd. “The kids showed up!” he said fiercely.

They did. But where are they now?

An army of 15 million voters under 30 swept Obama past Hillary Clinton and John McCain and to the presidency in 2008. More than 12 million helped him return in 2012. But now his presidency is on the line — and the Obama youth are abandoning him in his hour of need.

The administration announced last week that only 1.08 million people ages 18 to 34 had signed up for Obamacare by the end of February, or about 25 percent of total enrollees. If the proportion doesn’t improve significantly, the result likely will be fatal for the Affordable Care Act.

Asking them to pay money to join a health-care exchange, it seems, is too tall an order

Chuck Schumer has joined Harry Reid in obsessive attacks on Charles and David Koch and their company, Koch Industries. Yesterday Schumer told Politico that the Democrats’ attacks on the Koch brothers are paying off politically, and they intend to continue them. He described the brothers’ “real agenda”:

They’re spending $40, $50 million in ads that are not focused on their real agenda, which is just eliminating all regulation on corporations, cutting taxes to virtually nothing.

Here is the funny thing:

When Koch Industries’ political action committee donated money to Schumer’s 2010 Senatorial campaign, Schumer thought the Kochs were wonderful.

Here is the letter of appreciation Schumer wrote, dated October 28,2009. Click to enlarge file size:

Schumer couldn’t have been more grateful to the Kochs: “Thank you so much for the generous KOCHPAC contribution to my 2010 campaign….” “Your early financial help keeps me strong in my campaign.” “Again, I can’t thank you enough….I look forward to working with you throughout this election.”

If you think the Democrats’ attacks on the Koch brothers are hypocritical, and purely a matter of whose ox is being gored…you are right.

Vocabulary Fraud: Obama denies by redefinition
.................................................................................................
The Shinbone: The Frontier of the Free Press ^ | April 22, 2014 | Daniel Clark

While speaking to Al Sharpton’s National Action Network, President Obama stated his opposition to state voter identification laws, a position for which no innocent motive exists. It wouldn’t have sounded good if he’d admitted he was defending voter fraud, so instead he redefined the term, so that he could pretend to oppose it instead.

“The real voter fraud is those that try to deny our rights by making arguments about voter fraud,” he said, apparently meaning that those who try to prevent voter fraud by requiring identification are themselves the frauds. Let’s think about that for a second, in English. Fraud is an exercise in deceit. Where’s the deception in requiring someone to produce a photo ID in order to vote? When you need a photo ID in order to cash a check, nobody calls that banking fraud.

Such a characterization would be a transparent attempt to enable genuinely fraudulent transactions. Obama’s attempt to shield voter fraud is just as thinly disguised. Symptomatic of his Big Brother complex, his redefinition is a direct contradiction: verification is fraud, and vice versa.

As long as he’s pinching ideas from 1984, he might as well redefine “freedom,” too. “As Democrats, we’ve let the other side define ‘freedom’ for too long,” he told this year’s Winter Meeting of the Democratic National Committee. “Freedom doesn’t mean the ability to ask ‘what’s in it for me.’” If the ability to act in one’s own interest isn’t “freedom,” then what is?

“Freedom is the knowledge that your future in this country is secure,” he said, adding that a secure future can only be provided by an omnipotent federal government. Freedom, he went on to explain, is having your health insurance provided by a central authority. Freedom is the ability to keep your house despite having no intention of paying your mortgage. It also turns out, absurdly, that freedom is the power to force a baker to produce a gay wedding cake against his will.

Although Obama categorizes amnesty for illegal aliens under the heading of “freedom,” he boasts a record of more deportations than any other administration. He justifies this claim by redefining the word “deport” so that it applies to people who have never taken up residence here. The “deported” now include many of those apprehended at the border, who are never really in the U.S. other than while in custody. These are offenders who previously would have been immediately returned to Mexico as part of the widely criticized “catch and release” policy. After 9-11, the Bush administration began charging and fingerprinting them before sending them back. Bush did not count these cases as deportations. Obama, by doing so, has superficially tripled his total.

Throughout the pre-Obama era, the federal deficit has been the difference between federal outlays and revenues for a particular year. The deficit has always been an annual measurement, to show how much is being added to the national debt from one year to the next. Now that we’re speaking Obamese, the deficit is a 10-year cumulative projection. If he can produce a new projection that comes in at $100 billion a year less than the last projection, then he can gloat that he’s reduced the deficit by $1 trillion, even though the results haven’t happened yet, and even though he is inflating that hypothetical outcome tenfold.

Contrary to liberal academic theory, you can’t change reality just by talking about it differently. Fraudulent votes, and not voter ID laws, threaten the integrity of our electoral process. Millions of illegal aliens continue to mock our country with their presence, abetted by an administration even less serious about the problem than its predecessors. Obama has already increased our national debt by 58 percent, despite his tall tales of having slain the fire-breathing deficit.

Most importantly, being subject to an authoritarian government is not freedom. Bureaucrats now aim to dictate every facet of our behavior, right down to our eating habits. Free expression of religion has become a right reserved for liberal-approved minorities, while Christians are increasingly prohibited from living in accordance with their beliefs. Obama himself routinely chooses to nullify certain laws through non-enforcement, thereby treating the will of the people as merely an unsolicited opinion.

Obama thinks he can take the infamously pungent “corpse flower” and call it a rose, and then have his regulatory wonks issue a report about how sweet it smells. If you disagree with that conclusion, then you are a racist.

Well? Why wouldn’t he also redefine you, while he’s at it?

White House corruption
.............................................................................................
Pittsburgh Tribune-Review ^ | 5-1-2014 | Katie Pavlich

There are two major scandals that will taint President Barack Obama's legacy: Benghazi and the targeting of conservative groups by the IRS.

When both of these scandals came to light, senior Obama administration officials, out of habit, immediately blamed everything and everyone outside the White House. But as we move forward with lawsuits and demands for answers, the White House walls are starting to cave in.

This week, an email obtained by Judicial Watch revealed White House communications adviser Ben Rhodes as the architect of then-U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice's Sunday show talking points on Benghazi, where, five times, she misrepresented the reason for the attack. To make matters worse, Rhodes specifically stated in the emails that focus needed to be on “an Internet video,” not a “broader failure of policy.”

The White House previously denied involvement in changing or altering talking points and, just days before the 2012 presidential election, Obama took offense at anyone suggesting his White House was deliberately misleading the American people about the cause or motive for the attack.

When the IRS scandal broke early last summer, senior IRS officials and the White House blamed a few “low-level” and “rogue” employees working in a small Cincinnati office for the targeting of conservative tea party groups. We've known for months that talking point is demonstrably false.

New email evidence shows the now-infamous Lois Lerner was working with senior officials at the Department of Justice to consider bringing criminal charges against conservative groups that might have “lied” on their tax-exempt application forms. Lerner noted that her old Federal Election Commission friends were concerned about a flood of new groups they wanted to “shut down.” A criminal prosecution of just one would intimidate the rest into silence.

Further, Lerner was regularly working with the former chief of staff to former IRS Commissioner Steven Miller, who visited the White House a record 118 times during the period of the targeting between 2010 and 2011.

But it wasn't just Democrats or Lois Lerner's friends in the IRS who were expressing concern over new conservative tea party groups. Obama led the charge publicly in speeches and in interviews with the media while lamenting the free speech power the Citizens United ruling gave people to create such groups and to raise money. He mentioned “shady” groups repeatedly, the same “shady” groups the IRS and DOJ were working to silence. Coincidence? Not a chance.

When Republicans take over the Senate in November, they'll have more power to enforce investigations of Obama administration scandals coming out of the House Oversight Committee. When this power is applied, Obama will feel the pressure and more information pointing directly to White House involvement in corrupt behavior previously denied will be exposed.

It's only a matter of time.
