Name: ADSL Data Network (ADN) Service.

Type of Change:

Bell Atlantic ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) Data Network Service uses Rate Adaptive Asymmetrical Digital Subscriber Line (RADSL) technology to provide high speed packetized data transport of information between Data Information Users and Data Information Providers.

The network interface of the RADSL Remote Terminal Unit (ATU-R) Modem to Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) Media Interface is defined in:

Bell Atlantic ADSL High-Speed Data Service Network, Document No. ADSL007, Version 1.0,

ADN service is tentatively scheduled for an initial limited trial in December, 1997, with further roll-out in 2Q98. To confirm the actual deployment date, contact the product manager listed below.

Locations changes are to occur:

Bell Atlantic will initially offer ADN service in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area in 2Q98 and plans to expand service into other selected areas within the Bell Atlantic region beginning 2Q98.

Reasonably foreseeable impact of change:

ADN service gives users high speed data connections to the Internet, including the World Wide Web, as well as to corporate LANs. Compatible CPE will be required.
