If one just mentioned science, there would be no need for citing scripture it would just melt away, so why give him the play? In the bible we have books like Isaiah, why anyone would get that excited of a holy scripture that had only one book of this "prophet" span some 700yrs worth of history? Not much was happening in the Jehova heavenly shperes we guess, but no one notices this huge gap, one prophet for half a millenea. Jahweh was taking a nap? Pretty sparse stuff, meanwhile the Greeks were building civilization up in all the important areas one could name, trying to unite the world , while these poor beggars were worrying about their diets.
