Eric, as usual, you refuse to be educated. You will need to read about the orchestrated litany of lies report into the navigation to the Erebus crash to understand it. If you prefer to remain ignorant, that's reasonable because there is an infinity of things about which we are all ignorant. But you can't then use your ignorance to make an argument. Trying to win an argument by asserting how important you are is not persuasive. "I fly planes bigger than Cessnas and you can't fly a plane so that makes me right and you wrong" is not an argument. Your father working for Boeing doesn't make you right either. My brother showing me how 747 flights worked over Kamchatka doesn't make me right, it makes him right. I'm just reporting what he told me and what he showed me and that I could not see any holes in his argument [and I am very prone to finding holes in his arguments - to the extent that he will storm out when I don't simply accept what he says]. That's great that you have flown some planes bigger than Cessnas, but that doesn't mean your arguments are correct. For example you were wrong about check-lists. Like peer reviewed science, they are a great place to start, but they do not replace thinking for yourself and are traps for people with idee fixe mindset. The dopey Global Alarmists who got the ship stuck on their silly expedition had a fixed mindset which led them to almost disaster. Mqurice
