Or you may even want to protect your own life.

There is a signal near my house that routinely has no traffic anywhere in sight, coming from any direction. No cars around, nothing.

In 20 years living here I don't think I ever ran it.

It really wouldn't occur to me to run a traffic signal, I don't think.

You might say waiting on it change to green is acting in my own self-interest.

You are not in touch with reality. People already run stop lights and stop signs and without rules the kids would do it all the time.

You need to go to some third world country without traffic laws and see how they drive and how high the accident rate is.

You live in a little fantasy world you made up.
