Asia is not unified, I have asked chinese MBA students about trade with India and got a glassy stare, it's not even considered worthy of discussion. (very strange)
Bonnie, I could be wrong but I recon that until very recently most Chinese are deliberately kept in the dark about international politcs and economy. That is not the case with India. When I was in India in 93-94, the Chinese and Indian governments were husling to cooperate in trade and other regional economic matters. The big think tank in India was so much excited about it that they saw the Indo-Sino combination as the new economic powerhouse in the world. Quite possible. Then the Chineese got a stern warning from Washington (as I saw it) and the matter seem to have died.
