Re: SEG, QNTM

These are the signs of the beginning of the end.

TGW: I want to say none of what's happening in this sector was very evident 3 months ago. If it makes you feel any better I lost a lot more on WDC and APM in an even shorter time frame. But I busted my ass researching the sector and I came to a different conclusion than you, so I got out a while ago. I'm sure you did plenty of work as well and still came up bullish--this just proves that there's no way to be sure. I give Peter Lynch credit for pushing me out--he repeatedly advises against investing in companies with deteriorating fundamentals.

On the flip side, we're seeing numerous indications of approaching the bottom of this cycle. All the major drive companies have now announced significant production cutbacks. Once the fundamentals turn again to the upside I'm ready to collect my money back and then some.

But we're not there yet.

Tom glad to see that we agree. It scares me when I hear people remark that they are putting all of their money into 2-3 stocks for the big kill. May work for a while but sooner or later the law of averages gets them.
