Any thoughts/comments on Hong Kong demonstration.

Literally tens of thousands of people have come to protest in Hong Kong against China’s attempt to control the outcome of a planned direct election for the city’s leader in 2017.

What was gold & has been gold is anything internet related, social media & B2B in China as Alibaba ipo nears. That real estate portal i mentioned a while back "Soufun" SFUN has run back up another 25%, up almost $10 today plus that "YY", SINA which Alibaba has interest in.

Think "solar" gold too, check charts for Chinese solars like JKS or CSIQ, running up relentlessly as China gives nod to more green energy, these charts are nothing short of phenomenal, 1990's all over again, but prolly justified, CSIQ solar the best performer in all markets.

* Honorable mention goes to Chinese gambling & WYNN casinos, stock has been unstoppable.

There is a qualitative difference between USA and China these days. The USA is nowadays run by politicians who are largely lawyers. There are few presidential engineers. Nancy Pelosi was not an engineer. China is run by politicians who are engineers.

Lawyers are practised in the art of dividing up wealth produced by other people. Engineers are practised at producing wealth from things that work, by understanding causal relationships and the four forces of the apocalypse.

My guess is that wealth production is a better bet than fighting over the spoils of opm.
