Christ said to give Caesar what was his.

And he didn't say way was Caesar's, or even that Caesar was owed anything, only that what was properly Caesar's should be given to Caesar. The comment doesn't really support any view on taxes. It neatly sidesteps taking political sides. And he never said that people should pay taxes for redistribution, or that it was greedy to not want as much taxes and spending.

Also the Roman's had an income tax, and had total tax levels much lower than the levels in the US today.

AND .. the people they have been taking from have revolted in the past when their money has been wasted and NOT used properly.

Government has been "taking and caring for" since before Joseph told ol' Pharoah to store grain for the hungry years.

When you can sell the idea that increasing taxes will solve today's abuse and embezzlement of our taxes, let me know.
