I hesitate to open my mouth here at this point given the sensational quality of the postings both here and on MF. However, I think I'll toss in my two cents about the legal challenge to the pipeline route. Under U.S. law the legal challenge would be laughed out of court because the route decision by a commission is a protypical non-justiciable controversy -- it involves a broad balancing of political, economic and ecological issues of a sort for which the courts are not designed. I suspect the Canadian court system, also derived from English law, is not diametrically opposite on this point.
