There once was (and still is) a battery company called Valence Technology. They obtained a contract to build a new kind of battery for Motorola, a huge electronics company full of smart engineers. Valence leased (or purchased, I don't remember) a large building wherein they commenced to install manufacturing equipment. They had startup problems. To make a long story short, after all the hype, no sales were made and the plant was shut down, and the stock droped an order of magnitude.
