NEW YORK, Dec 10 (Reuters) - Israel-based Laser Industries Ltd said on Wednesday the U.S. Food and Drug
Administration granted marketing clearance for its Alexandrite laser system for the removal of unwanted body
hair.

The agency's determination was based upon the submitted results of a clinical study conducted over a oneyear period to test the safety and efficacy of single and multiple treatments using the Alexandrite laser system, the company said.

The Alexandrite laser system will complement Laser Industries' already highly successful Ruby laser-basedEpiTouch product line, which is capable of removing unwanted hair and tattoos, Laser Industries said. LaserIndustries said Alexandrite is able to remove hair quicker than the EpiTouch product line.
