We all have our political burdens. I'll see your Ronald Reagan and Darrell Issa and raise you Jesse Helms. We do have a very interesting political indicator here that nobody pays attention to. But I do. Because I have quite a few black friends. And that is the more than 200,000 educated black folks who have moved here from the North since 1990. Their grandparents moved north, for good reason. And they are now moving back south for good reason. The Republicans hate this and want to keep it quiet. Happening in Virginia and a few other 'mid-south' states as well. This has me thinking about interstate Jingoism. Going to think about all the states I have visited and which ones l liked the most and the least. I am not a native of NC however. Grew up in MO and work and military took me to Kentucky, Tennessee, Illinois, Minnesota, Indiana Florida, and finally NC where I decided to stay.
