GDP equals consumption of goods and services made in the United States. That's the Paul Samuelson textbook definition. They ran out of morons to buy junk so they now have to import them to keep the GDP propped up because otherwise they can't sell the debt or raise taxes overnite on lower middle class to 90% of their income to stay solvent. It's a bandaid fix because when all the entitlements become due in the future that are unfunded there is no way to pay without borrowing more to do it.
