Interesting stats from Allied Van Lines about interstate migrations, not sure I buy the conclusion but makes for interesting discussion. I'd say weather is a big factor, too. businessweek.com

If quality of life were only based on two metrics, you might have a point. But don't expect anyone from Northern California, who lives in a nice area, to believe you. You cannot beat the quality of life here, if you can afford it. There really is no other place to live- if you hate humidity, love fine weather, access to beaches and mountains, culture, wine and fabulous food. But I hope you get plenty of folks who believe you. N. California is full.
