It sounds like you have done well for the little guy. (How soon will he need it, is he already thinking about college?) That is great. And being conservative now with his funds--and your own--is very sensible. You are probably right that things are too high and the air is getting thin.

The two things that I am sceptical about are short term trading and doing a lot of macro forecasting. Sometimes it sounds like you even mix them!

While I am on your case, do you have to be as active as you are, or do you do it for fun?

My investing good points would be: patience, dislike of action, and not getting too worked up. Among many bad points would be: irrational portfolio construction, not keeping score or knowing what the market does, and optimism. Also I waste too much time reading financial news without getting a lot out of it. I do know that financial reporting mostly falls in the category of entertainment--that is something!
