SVS Develops World's First "True" Hybrid Bookmobile Specialty Vehicle Services, LLC. (SVS) is proud to announce the successful development of the world's first "true" hybrid bookmobile. Based on the new Freightliner M2e platform, the new bookmobile being purchased by the Mendocino County Library (CA) will draw all of its stationary power needs directly from the Eaton hybrid drive system, without the need for diesel-fueled auxiliary generator. "Although stationary hybrid power systems have been available for some time, this is the first vehicle (in this modality) that will be constructed on a hybrid drive chassis and completely eliminate an auxiliary power system" says SVS' President Michael Swendrowski.
