pick a stock that has crashed..like cpq..this gives you some protection.
and by owning the down strike put you are protected against disaster..
better than owning the stk with no put.
The spread limits your margin to the spread amt.
Some spreads can be created for next to nothing yet give you great profit..
like selling a cpq apr 85 for 27 and buying the apr 60 put for
7. for 5000 you are able to purchase a cpq ride on 1000 shares of cpq stk.
to buy the stk you need 30k margin.
